Ways to Prepare Yellowfin Tuna

1. Pan-Seared (Restaurant Style)

  • Pat tuna dry and season with salt, pepper, and olive oil.

  • Heat a pan until smoking hot.

  • Sear 1–2 minutes per side (for medium-rare).

  • Slice against the grain.

2. Grilled (Braai or Grill)

  • Brush fillets with oil, soy sauce, and lemon.

  • Grill 2–3 minutes per side on high heat.

  • Avoid overcooking — tuna is best slightly pink in the center.

3. Oven-Baked

  • Rub with olive oil, herbs, garlic, and paprika.

  • Bake at 180°C for 10–12 minutes.

  • Keep a close eye to prevent drying.

4. Sashimi or Poke (If used raw — ensure proper handling)

  • Thaw fully in the fridge.

  • Slice thinly with a sharp knife.

  • Serve with soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, or add to poke bowls.
